80.2.6 Customizing the cap color for a view cut

In modules other than the Visualization module, you can customize the “cap” that appears when you display the portion of the cutting plane on the view cut. The Cap Color options provide two choices for customizing the cap color:

Abaqus/CAE hides the cap from the viewport if you toggle on translucency for your session; for more information, see Changing the translucency, Section 77.3. In addition, Abaqus/CAE might hide the cap when you save or export the contents of the viewport, depending on the file format you select.

To customize the cap color for a view cut:

  1. From the main menu bar, select ToolsView CutManager.

The View Cut Manager dialog box appears.

  2. Click Options.

The View Cut Options dialog box appears.

  3. From the list of Cap Color options, select one of the following:

    • Select Specify and click , then select a cap color from the Select Color dialog box that appears to display the selected color for the entire portion of the model displayed on the cut. For more information about selecting a new color, see Customizing colors, Section 3.2.9.

    • Select Use body color to color the cap using the current color coding settings for each component that intersects the view cut.

  4. Click OK.
