75.6.5 Restoring entities that were replaced by virtual topology

You can select ToolsVirtual TopologyRestore Entities from the main menu bar to restore edges and vertices that were previously replaced by virtual topology. Using the restore tool allows you to select individual entities to restore rather than deleting or suppressing the virtual topology feature, which would bring back all of the entities.

To restore entities:

  1. From the Object field in the context bar, select a part or the assembly.

  2. From the main menu bar, select ToolsVirtual TopologyRestore Entities.

Tip:  You can also restore entities using the tool, located in the Mesh module toolbox.

Abaqus/CAE highlights in blue all entities that have been replaced by virtual topology.

  3. Select the combination of entities that you want to restore.

You can use a combination of drag-select, [Shift] + Click, and [Ctrl] + Click to select more than one entity to restore. For more information, see Selecting objects within the current viewport, Section 6.2.

  4. Click mouse button 2, or click Done in the prompt area.

Abaqus/CAE creates a Restore ignored geometry feature in the Model Tree to restore the selected entities—the virtual topology features are not changed. If there are more entities that can be restored, Abaqus/CAE continues the selection procedure.

  5. When you have finished restoring entities, click mouse button 2 or the cancel button in the prompt area.
