67.5.2 Customizing colors for vector components

You can adjust the color that Abaqus/CAE uses to display the resultant vector and each component vector in the 1-, 2-, or 3-directions. These settings are available independently for force vectors and moment vectors; the Free Body Plot Options dialog box provides identical (but independent) options for Force and Moment vector colors. By default, the resultant force and component vectors are red and the resultant moment and component vectors are blue.

To customize colors for the resultant vector or the component vectors:

  1. Locate the Colors options.

Select OptionsFree Body from the main menu bar in the Visualization module, and click the Color & Style tab in the dialog box that appears. The Colors options appear at the top of the page.

  2. Click the Force tab or the Moment tab to set vector colors for force vectors or moment vectors, respectively.

  3. Change the vector color for one of the vectors:

    1. Click the color sample () for the resultant vector or for one of the component vectors.

Abaqus/CAE displays the Select Color dialog box.

    2. Use one of the methods in the Select Color dialog box to select a new color. For more information, see Customizing colors, Section 3.2.9.

    3. Click OK to close the Select Color dialog box.

The color sample and the selected vector change to the selected color.

Repeat these steps to change the vector color for one or more of the other vectors.

  4. Click OK to implement your changes and to close the Free Body Plot Options dialog box.

By default, your changes are saved for the duration of the session and will affect all subsequent free body cuts plots in that viewport. If you want to retain your changes for subsequent sessions, save them to a file. For more information, see Saving customizations for use in subsequent sessions, Section 55.1.1.
