47.9.2 Customizing the title of the X–Y plot legend

Use the Title options to display or hide a title for the X–Y plot legend and to customize its contents.

To customize the legend title for an X–Y plot:

  1. Locate the Text options.

    Select OptionsXY OptionsChart Legend; or click , which is located with the X–Y plotting tools in the Visualization module toolbox.

    Tip:  You can also open this dialog box directly by double-clicking the legend in the viewport when an X–Y plot is displayed. You cannot select a component in an X–Y plot directly from the viewport when an active procedure is in effect; cancel the current procedure before selecting items from an X–Y plot.

    The Text options for the legend appear in the lower half of the Contents page.

  2. From the Charts field, select one or more X–Y plots whose legends you wish to customize.

    Note:  To make an X–Y curve available for selection, you must first plot it.

  3. Click the Contents tab, if it is not already selected.

  4. If desired, enter a title for the X–Y plot legend in the Title field.

  5. Select the font of the X–Y plot legend title.

    1. Click .

      Abaqus/CAE displays the Select Font dialog box.

    2. Use one of the methods in the Select Font dialog box to select a new font, size, and style. For more information, see Customizing fonts, Section 3.2.8.

    3. Click Apply to see the effect of your font selections.

    4. Click OK to close the Select Font dialog box.

      The X–Y plot legend title changes to the selected font, size, and style.

  6. Select the color of the X–Y plot legend title.

    1. Click the color sample .

      Abaqus/CAE displays the Select Color dialog box.

    2. Use one of the methods in the Select Color dialog box to select a new color. For more information, see Customizing colors, Section 3.2.9.

    3. Click OK to close the Select Color dialog box.

      The X–Y plot legend title text changes to the selected color.

  7. Click Dismiss to close the Chart Legend Options dialog box.
