Use the Auto-trim tool from the Sketcher toolbox to delete unwanted portions of sketched edges. Edges are deleted between the two “trim points” closest to the cursor. The trim points include:
Intersections with other edges, construction geometry, or reference geometry
Endpoints
Points used to define the circumference of circles
You cannot trim a fillet; if you trim an edge that defines an endpoint of a fillet, Abaqus/CAE deletes the fillet.
To trim edges automatically:
From the modify tools in the Sketcher toolbox, select the Auto-trim tool

Abaqus/CAE displays prompts in the prompt area to guide you through the procedure.
Move the cursor over the edges in the sketch.
As you move the cursor, Abaqus/CAE highlights the section that would be removed.
Click to remove the highlighted edge segment.
Unlike when you use Trim/Extend, Abaqus/CAE does not split the intersecting edges.
Note: If you trim a spline curve, Abaqus/CAE removes the control points to retain the exact shape of the original curve; therefore, you can no longer edit the shape of the curve.
When you have finished trimming edges, do one of the following
Click mouse button 2 anywhere in the Abaqus/CAE window.
Select any tool in the Sketcher toolbox.
Click the cancel button 
in the prompt area.
