11.18.1 Managing parts

To create, copy, rename, and delete parts, use one of the following:

To lock or unlock parts for editing in the current model database, use the Lock and Unlock buttons in the Part Manager dialog box. The Status field indicates Locked parts . For more information on part locking, see What is part and assembly locking?, Section 11.12.

To update the validity or to ignore the invalidity of parts, use the Update Validity and Ignore Invalidity buttons in the Part Manager dialog box. The Status field indicates Invalid or Invalid (ignored) parts. For more information on part validity, see Working with invalid parts, Section 10.2.3.

To retrieve a part from the model database and display it in the current viewport, select the part from the Part list located in the context bar. The Part list contains all the parts in the current model.
