Abaqus Release Notes

2.3 Enhancements to linked viewports

Product: Abaqus/CAE

Benefits: You can now link viewports from the Viewport toolbar (with a single mouse click) or the Viewport menu. The default behavior for linked viewports is changed to link all viewports in your session and to share all characteristics of a viewport when linking is activated. Previously, you were required to specify the viewports to link and only a subset of characteristics were shared. These enhancements improve the usability of linked viewports.

Description: Several enhancements are available for linked viewports.

  • The Linked Viewports dialog box is renamed to the Linked Viewports Manager and retains the functionality to include/exclude viewports from the group of linked viewports and to control the characteristics that the linked viewports share.

  • By default, if linked viewports are activated, all viewports in your session are linked and all characteristics are shared. If this option is deactivated, all viewports in your session are independent.

  • In the Viewport toolbar, the tool, which previously displayed the Linked Viewports dialog box, now activates or deactivates linked viewports as specified in the Linked Viewports Manager.

  • The Viewport toolbar includes a new Linked Viewports Manager tool.

  • The Viewport menu is revised to include Link Viewports and to replace Linked Viewports with Linked Viewports Manager.
